Christmas Service

2025 Christmas Services

We have lots going on this Christmas:

Carols with the Cononley Singers
Join us for our Carols by Candlelight Service, a joyful and heartwarming celebration of the Christmas story—made extra special as we are joined by the excellent Cononley Singers. Together we’ll enjoy well-loved carols, beautiful choral music, and the timeless readings that tell of God’s love revealed in the birth of Jesus. The flicker of candlelight, the warmth of voices raised in song, and the sense of shared wonder make this a truly memorable evening. Come and be part of this uplifting service as we welcome the hope, peace, and joy of Christmas into our hearts and homes.

Blue Christmas
Join us for our Blue Christmas Service. While much of the world celebrates with joy and festivity, many carry grief, loneliness, or worry that can make Christmas feel heavy. This service offers a safe, sacred space to acknowledge pain and loss, to light candles in remembrance or hope, and to rest in God’s comfort. Through quiet music, prayer, and reflection, it reminds us that the light of Christ still shines in the darkness, bringing healing and peace to wounded hearts.

There will be an opportunity to light candles for those who aren't with us this Christmas and to give thanks to those who have gone out of their way to help us.

Carols by Candlelight
Carols by Candlelight is a joyful and atmospheric celebration of the Christmas story, told through well-loved carols, readings, and candlelight. As darkness falls and the flicker of candles fills the church, we gather to retell the timeless story of God’s love made known in the birth of Jesus. The familiar music, warm glow, and shared voices create a moment of beauty and peace amid the busyness of the season. Whether you come in faith, curiosity, or tradition, this service invites all to pause, listen, and rejoice in the hope and light that Christ brings into the world.

Christingle & Crib Services at Cononley
Our Christmas Eve Crib and Christingle Service is a joyful, family-friendly celebration of the nativity story. Together we’ll build the crib, sing favourite carols, and wonder at the story of Jesus’ birth in Bethlehem. Children are especially welcome to take part as we remember the shepherds, angels, and wise men who came to see the newborn King. Each person will receive a Christingle—its bright candle reminding us that Jesus is the light of the world. With laughter, song, and the glow of candles, we gather to share the excitement and wonder of Christmas, and the love God brings to all.

Crib Service at Kildwick
Our Christmas Eve Crib Service is a lively, family-friendly celebration of the nativity story—perfect for children and those young at heart! Together we’ll sing favourite carols, hear the story of the first Christmas, and help build the crib scene as we remember Mary, Joseph, the shepherds, angels, and baby Jesus. It’s a joyful, informal service filled with excitement, wonder, and the true meaning of Christmas. Come and join the fun as we welcome the Christ child with song, laughter, and light, and share in the hope and love that his birth brings to the world.

Midnight (Bethlehem Time) Mass
Midnight Mass is one of the most beautiful and moving services of the Christian year. As the clock nears midnight in Bethlehem, we gather in the stillness to welcome the birth of Christ. By candlelight, we hear again the ancient story of God’s love made flesh in Jesus, sing carols of joy, and share in the first Eucharist of Christmas. It is a moment of wonder and peace—where the mystery of the Incarnation touches our hearts anew. Whether you come often or just once a year, this holy night invites us all to kneel in awe before the manger and rejoice.

Christmas Day Communion
Christmas Day Holy Communion is a joyful celebration of the birth of Jesus Christ—God with us. On this happiest of mornings, we gather as a family of faith to give thanks for the gift of love come down to earth. Through scripture, carols, prayer, and the sharing of bread and wine, we rejoice in the light that no darkness can overcome. Whether you’ve been up early with excitement or come seeking a moment of stillness, this service offers a time to pause, reflect, and celebrate the true heart of Christmas: Emmanuel—God with us, now and always.

Planning your Visit

A Warm Hello

A warm welcome to our parish!

We have lots going on, with many different ways to get involved with church life. If you’re new, come to one of our services where you can meet a few friendly faces and find out more about us.

You may also choose to sign up for our weekly email newsletter, (see here), which provides useful information about what’s going on as well as church family news. But don’t worry, we won’t spam your inbox!

Finding a new church can be hard, and we want to help any way we can. If you are looking for a new church home, we thought you’d want to know what we are all about.

We believe God’s mission for us is to be “Sharing, Caring, Growing in Christ.” And how doing that we grow in LOVE toward God and neighbour.

Mission
In Christ

Even though it is at the end of our mission statement, the words “In Christ” encapsulates the starting point as our lives as Christians. Everything begins with our relationship with God, in Christ, as we grow, care, and share, loving our God by loving our neighbour.

Growing

We believe your journey of faith is one of constant growth. We learn more about God and our faith as we study God’s truth given to us in the Bible. God loves us too much to be done developing us into the disciples He wants us to be, and so we continue to seek to grow in what it means to be His followers.

Caring

A Christian life is one of caring for each other. We share the love and joy we receive from God by caring for them. Jesus first showed that care for us by his death on the cross and the forgiveness he delivers. We, then, get to live that our in our lives by caring and serving our neighbours.

Sharing

What an opportunity God gives us, to share the good news of what Jesus has done for us. Now, more than ever, this world needs to hear the message of a God who loves them, who died for them, who hears their prayers, and who promises to be with them always. As His disciples, we get to be the ones to share that message of hope, love, and peace.

Getting Connected

Small Groups

While Sundays are a great way to meet new people, it is often in smaller gatherings that you can really get to know someone. Being part of one of our small groups allows you to make new friends, share together and support each other. We have a variety of groups that meet throughout the month, some afternoons and some evenings. We can put you in touch with a small group leader who will be more than happy to invite you along to their group.

Serving and Volunteering

If you want to get involved in the life of the church and help us make Sundays run smoothly, you can sign up to serve on a team.
